Insurance Template Overview

The Insurance industry template has been developed to provide an accurate set of standardized financial statements for insurance companies. The template is used for companies with interest income, interest expense, noninterest income, and noninterest exoense. The income statement features industry-specific tags such as premiums earned, investment income, realized investment gains (losses), commissions and fees, claims losses and benefits, and policy acquisition costs (32 tags). The balance sheet categories includes industry specific tags such as investments, deferred policy acquisition costs, policy reserves and unearned premiums (42 tags).
